About Orbit
Orbit is a storybook you walk through. Pick a story, step in, and every picture is a place. Touch something in it and you travel there. When you land, your hero is standing in the scene.
Your hero
Your hero is your dog, your kid, or you. You make one from three to five photos. Orbit draws them as a character in a warm animated style and shows you the character sheet before anything else happens. You say yes, ask for another try, or throw it away.
Once you say yes, the photos you uploaded are deleted. What stays is the drawing, and the drawing is yours alone. Nobody else can ever see your hero, not on a shared link, not on the explorers board, not anywhere.
A world that grows
Every story world is shared by everyone who visits. When you open a door nobody has opened before, the place on the other side is made once and kept for good. Everyone after you walks into it for free, and your explorer name stays on it as the first one there.
You get 3 first-discoveries a day, free. Walking paths other people have already opened never costs anything and never runs out.
Your explorer name is two friendly words we choose for you, something like Sunny Otter. It is the only thing about you that ever appears in public, and it is not your name.
Made for families
Orbit is built so that the safe choice is the default one. Every picture is drawn in a stylized animated style, so nothing in Orbit is a photograph of a real person. Heroes are private. There are no messages, comments or profiles. Explorer names come from a dictionary, not from a keyboard.
Each story starts from a bible written by a person, with a setting, a tone, and a list of what does not exist in that world. Every new scene is checked before it is kept, and every place has a way to tell us if something is wrong. Making a child into a hero asks for a parent or guardian’s consent before a single photo is uploaded.
How it is made
The pictures, films, narration and music are generated by AI models working from those human-written bibles, and the memorable moments in each story are written by people. A narrator reads every place aloud, and the words light up as they are spoken. Music, Ambience, Read aloud and Wait moments each have their own switch in the settings menu, because a household should be able to turn any of them off.
